Why Do You Sabotage Yourself?
You've been working towards your health and wellness goals. Eating healthfully and exercising regularly and it shows! Your skin is glowing, your energy levels are increasing, the measurements and scale is trending downwards.

When it comes to making progress, we are often our own worst enemy. Maybe you have been working really hard, but don't feel like you are getting any further ahead. In times like this it is convenient to blame external factors for why we are stuck. But what if I told you that it is probably you getting in your own way?
Self-sabotage is one of the biggest hurdles that the women I work with have to overcome.
Self-sabotage is essentially when you say that you want to achieve something and then you go about doing all of the things to make sure that this doesn't happen.
You may be thinking, "Why would anyone ever do that to themselves?"
But you may not be free and clear from this self-sabotage squad. I want you to reflect right now on your own situation....

How many times have you attempted to lose weight and have been unsuccessful?
How many times have you skipped your workout, binged on chicken wings, or chose to drink an iced coffee over a glass of water?
Everyday you are faced with hundreds of tiny decisions.. so tiny that they may even seem meaningless. But some of these habits and behaviors may be the complete opposite of what you need to take in order to reach your goal of weight loss. You know what your goal is....so why on earth are you engaging in these self sabotaging behaviors? We all do it... and here are a few reasons why.
1. We don't feel that we DESERVE the success that we desire.
The root of the belief that you are unworthy of amazing things can stem back as far as childhood. This afternoon, I invite you to take a few moments and think back to the very first time you felt that you were not good enough. What was said to you and who said it?
Can you forgive that person so that you can move on?
2. We fear that our friends or family will abandon us if we become successful.
This is an extremely common fear when it comes to weight loss & financial success. As women, we often build relationships with other women who are also on a mission to lose weight. You may even do programs and challenges together, go to a fitness class together, whatever the case may be, you are in the struggle of weight loss TOGETHER. But if you are successful...for good this time... you may fear that this friend will stop wanting to go to classes with you, or may even become jealous and stop calling you altogether. Women crave acceptance and being one with a group of people or tribe. This dates back to paleolithic roots where our survival depended on being accepted and included in a tribe.
3. You are afraid of outshining others.
This point ties nicely into the point that I just made above. So many people keep themselves broke and fat because they are afraid they will hurt someone else's feelings. This is especially true if you are an empath because you can place yourself in that person's shoes and FEEL the envy or the heaviness someone may feel when they compare their current situation to your success.
To overcome self-sabotage, we need to get really mindful of our daily actions.
Every time you sit down and turn on netflix instead of going for your evening walk.
Every time you open facebook first thing in the morning instead of doing your morning meditation.
These are ALL taking you away from your mission.
With each decision you make in a day check in with yourself...
Is what I am doing right now self-improving or self-defeating?
