All of these occasions involved food that I “wasn’t allowed”, depending on what new program I had happened to be on at the time.
There were even a few years where I didn’t buy Halloween candy because the temptation was too much.
My heart would race all night with that bowl of candy sitting out. And if I did give in... guilt hit me like a tidal wave.
***𝘤𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤***
As soon as I gave in, that inner critic would be in my ear:
-you’re so weak!
-and you wonder why you can’t lose weight.
-give you already, you were obviously meant to be fat.
And then the narrative switched to:
Just one more.. I’ll get back on track tomorrow.
This would usually last a few days until all of the Halloween candy was gone.
𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹..
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.
𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗶 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝘁.
There is a whole world out there!
Beyond dieting, tracking calories, & points.
A world where food can actually be enjoyed without guilt & shame.
A world without binging.
It is intimidating in the beginning of your undiet journey because because everyone around us seems to be on a diet, but it can be done with proper support in place.
