I use to dread this time of year

All of these occasions involved food that I โwasnโt allowedโ, depending on what new program I had happened to be on at the time. โฃ

There were even a few years where I didnโt buy Halloween candy because the temptation was too much. โฃ

My heart would race all night with that bowl of candy sitting out. And if I did give in... guilt hit me like a tidal wave. โฃ

As soon as I gave in, that inner critic would be in my ear:โฃ

-youโre so weak!โฃ
-and you wonder why you canโt lose weight.โฃ
-give you already, you were obviously meant to be fat.โฃ

And then the narrative switched to:โฃ
โฃ
Just one more.. Iโll get back on track tomorrow. โฃ
This would usually last a few days until all of the Halloween candy was gone.โฃ
